According to legend, the blue flame is the royal blood of an Indonesian King, Jakarta, who killed a huge sea dragon with a flaming sword called a Kris. The dragon was summoned by the Volcano God, Sukarno, who demanded a virgin sacrifice but defied by King Jakarta. In the ensuing battle, the sea dragon managed to use his hooked tail to pierce the lung of the King who had plunged his Kris into a pool of flaming lava. With his dying breath, King Jakarta cut open the dragon's chest exposing the double hearts that gave the dragon its power of flight. The flaming Kris took a life of its own and stabbed the hearts in one swift blow. The King's blood was spilled all over and merged with the lava, turning the flame from orange to blue.
